I like the Revo product, because, unlike Windows, it goes into the registries and you can totally nuke the remains, so that this and other software is really gone when you say GO! I do not work for any software company. In Windows XP uninstall tool, there is only a single icon. A) Antivirus folder, the B) Management Folder and C) the Update Folder. There will be 1-3 folders to uninstall, depending on the uninstall tool you use. Now exit the Local Services page, and go to your simple Windows Uninstall Tool from the Control Panel or, use a more husky 3rd party removal software. That is good.ĭo this for each "service" that has Sophos on the left column (5 on my local services page). You will not see "automatic" or "manual" in the column labeled "startup Type". There will then be a timed scan (10-15 seconds) and it will change the setting. Right click on the first one and you will see a simple dropdown menu of options. 5 of these probably appear as "automatic". Scroll down to the Sophos services (easy to see, just go from A to S). The local services page from Windows will appear. Hit the Start button on Windows, or on the taskbar. I have REVO and it could not do a thing, as Sophos would not recognize my password. This needs to be disabled before you can attack the uninstall. The problem many folks have with the 10.3 CLOUD trial version, is with the authentication/disabling function. THIS IS FOR Sophos 10.3 Cloud Version uninstall in Windows XP - A fellow named Jericho, at Sophos in Manila, showed me a trick.
